AU COURANT SUMMER 24
Skipping town on the heatwave, on the last line out. Dusk; final bar of silver slipping down the horizon. A concertina of apartment blocks unfold their hard breezeblock portals into long shadows, as if sundown didn’t exist until it found a building. You’d miss it all if you weren’t in the right place at the right time.
This is NOM*d Summer 24, AU COURANT.
We’re heading to a place for packing light. A fine cardigan, the Skyfall Dress in District Print, skyscraper memories joined in panels. Like syllabus: the Crest Shirt in fresh cotton, pressed carefully, a pair of pinstripe Department Trousers, an Iconic t-shirt, the City Coat in soft twill postbox red, a vivid reminder to send a letter home. These are the steadfast garments that will take you up and down the country with a cool posture and a knowing wink.
Out of the rear view now, distant lights wince like blood blossoms. The city in flux will become mesh to layer, slipping the Core Long Sleeve under the easy linen Damask of the Elevator Dress. A surreal cloudbank merges into our Cosmo Print, tying up the High-Line Dress. For NOM*d, the tesselating game of shadows and signal changes are the pulses of a new outfit.
Tomorrow, you’ll find us in the deluge zone, where the wild thyme covers the earth in a deep caper green. Years ago these hills were flooded, an aquatic cascade of water and silt. Now they bear the colours of smoke and rust and pink clay. Plaid Mix pigments spiral into a Shell; small alpine flowers pepper the Tuileries Top and across the buttonholes of the Shirt Dress. In these parts, time is but a membrane, a Technical Pique shaped at angles across the shoulder blades. We learn to be porous too, open to the hues of pollen heavy in the air.
AU COURANT is your season’s pass. We’ll follow your lead.
